In other words, it’s an easy-to-use chatbot that can answer your questions and provide useful content in a human-like tone (or at least a robot’s estimation of what a human sounds like!).

5 ways to use ChatGPT for SEO content

ChatGPT is a great resource for helping you create SEO content so you can increase your visibility online. These are five ways to get the most out of it.

1. Generating blog post ideas

Coming up with blog post topics can take quite a bit of time—and ChatGPT can help by providing you with a list of ideas. To get the best results, it’s good to be as specific as possible. For example, rather than asking for blog post topics related to “real estate,” try asking about “real estate investing” instead. It’s also helpful to include your intended audience (such as first-time homebuyers) and the location you’re targeting (such as Austin, TX). Here’s an example of a good prompt: “give me 10 blog topic ideas about real estate investing for first-time homebuyers in Austin, TX.”

2. Researching blog content

ChatGPT is trained on a wide variety of text that’s available to the general public, making it a useful tool for gathering information you can use in your SEO content. For example, you could ask the chatbot, “what should I include in a blog post about tips for Austin first-time homebuyers?” or “write a blog post about first-time home buying in Austin, TX.” One thing to note is that you should be using the answers strictly as research, rather than copying and pasting the content directly.

3. Creating outlines for blogs and how-to guides

ChatGPT is also a great resource for creating general outlines for blog articles and how-to guides, including headings and subsections. For example, you could say, “create an outline for a blog post about first-time home buying in Austin, TX,” and the chatbot will provide you with a helpful structure that you can use to start formatting your post.

4. Summarizing webpages to create meta descriptions

Meta descriptions are short, detailed text pieces describing the content of your pages. They should summarize a page’s content in one or two sentences and be between 120-158 total characters. You can give ChatGPT a prompt like this: “summarize this article in 140 characters: {article URL},” and it will handily provide a meta description. Fortunately, using ChatGPT to summarize webpages to create meta descriptions is not against Google’s guidelines.

5. Writing compelling property descriptions

When you input basic information about a property, such as the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage into ChatGPT, the chatbot can generate a detailed description that highlights the property’s best features and benefits. Like with many of the above uses, it’s important to note that you shouldn’t copy and paste this content directly, as it may violate Google’s guidelines. Instead, use these descriptions as a starting point, edit the content to suit your brand voice, and follow these tips for creating engaging property descriptions.

Limitations of ChatGPT

Like any tool, ChatGPT has its pros and cons. While there are many benefits to using ChatGPT to create SEO content, it’s also important to consider the AI tool’s limitations and where it may be unreliable or unhelpful.
