Inside Real Estate is consolidating BoomTown into BoldTrail and phasing out the standalone BoomTown platform. Existing BoomTown customers may still have access to legacy products and services during the transition, and selected functionality was still rolling out to BoomTown users as of early 2026. Everything described here reflects publicly available information as of July 2026 and may change.
Most platform comparisons describe Sierra Interactive and BoomTown as opposites. The more accurate framing is that the two emphasize different things, and that the competitor you would actually buy today is BoldTrail. Sierra leans into SEO-driven websites and organic visibility. BoldTrail leans into an integrated CRM, marketing, and analytics ecosystem, with managed advertising and concierge lead qualification offered as separately priced Marketplace services. Both support paid and organic lead sources, IDX websites, CRM workflows, and database nurturing. What matters is whether the model you choose matches the way your business actually generates business.
Sierra says its platform is trusted by more than 2,300 customers. BoldTrail says its current platform serves more than 400,000 agents, teams, and brokerages nationwide, though that broader ecosystem figure is not directly comparable with older BoomTown-only adoption counts, and the two vendors define their user bases differently. The right choice depends on your budget, your timeline, and whether you have the internal capacity to produce marketing content week after week. That last variable is where a connected platform like Luxury Presence changes the equation.

Key takeaways
- Published pricing works differently across the category. Sierra posts subscription rates on its pricing page. BoldTrail uses custom sales pricing and publicly presents BASE, PLUS, and PRO configurations, so a current Sierra-versus-BoldTrail figure cannot be assembled from public first-party sources. Third-party estimates for legacy BoomTown packages sat well above Sierra’s published rates as of July 2026.
- The organic vs. paid debate is about emphasis, not a clean split. Sierra sells managed Google and social advertising alongside its SEO architecture. BoldTrail recognizes organic, referral, manual, API, and third-party lead sources, and offers managed advertising as a Marketplace service.
- Support models differ. Sierra documents ticketing, Help Center resources, and emergency phone procedures. Inside Real Estate’s support documentation lists 24/7 AI-assisted chat, weekday email, and weekday phone support for BoldTrail, and separately lists weekday email support for legacy BoomTown.
- CRM philosophies differ. Sierra documents configurable routing by source, tag, location, price, schedule, and claim workflow. BoldTrail organizes around Smart CRM, contact statuses, and Smart Campaigns.
- The best option may be a third one. Agents who want premium design, done-for-you content, and managed advertising with zero management fee on ad spend find that a connected platform such as Luxury Presence delivers all three in one place.
Understanding Sierra Interactive’s SEO focus
Sierra Interactive built its reputation on technical SEO architecture that helps agent websites earn organic visibility. Sierra traces its earliest real estate website work to 2003 and says the company was formally founded in 2007, giving it roughly 19 years as an established company as of 2026.
For teams that believe organic traffic compounds into a durable advantage, that emphasis matters.
What Sierra promotes in its SEO approach:
- Schema and structured markup, which helps search engines interpret property data, agent information, and local market content
- Fast load times and clean site architecture, which Sierra advertises as part of its website infrastructure
- SEO-oriented IDX and community pages, including saved searches, hyperlocal pages, metadata controls, and schema that can create indexable landing pages for neighborhood and property-search queries
- Local content architecture, with frameworks for building location-specific pages targeting “homes for sale in [neighborhood]” style searches
Whether any of those pages rank is a separate question for any provider. Rankings depend on content quality, duplication, crawlability, market competition, authority, and canonicalization, most of which sit outside the platform itself. For a deeper look at how search architecture and property data work together, see our guide to IDX SEO strategy, our roundup of common SEO mistakes, and our breakdown of topic clustering.
Sierra has published recent case studies in which clients generated significant opportunities through Google organic search, including a reported $47 million buyer inquiry that arrived through organic search rather than a portal. That is a strong individual result rather than a benchmark for how any platform performs across a market.
Sierra’s core platform provides the website architecture and content-management tools, and clients can produce content internally, outsource it independently, or purchase Sierra’s Content Writing Services, announced July 10, 2026, for professionally written community pages, blog posts, and SEO content with strategy intake, research, originality review, and publishing. That service is scoped separately from the standard subscription.
SEO & GEO from Luxury Presence covers both halves as part of the plan. Our team pairs ongoing technical optimization with weekly hyperlocal content and integrated lead capture, so the architecture and the content that feeds it arrive together. As buyers and sellers move between Google, ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, that same program keeps your brand visible across the AI search shift. If you want to see where you stand today, start with our guide to tracking AI search visibility and our AI visibility audit.
Agents notice the difference when both halves are handled. Taylor B., a real estate broker at a small business, wrote on G2 in October 2025 that his SEO onboarding lead walked him through search and technology concepts he had not grasped before. Courtney H., a marketing director, wrote in November 2025 that she saw improved Google SEO for her listings and found the platform easy to customize with little web-design experience. A verified real estate user who has been on the platform since 2019 wrote in December 2025 that the platform kept improving, pointing to its luxury aesthetic, SEO performance, and team support. These are individual experiences shared on G2, not a promise of results for every agent.
BoldTrail’s platform, and what legacy BoomTown customers still see
BoldTrail approaches real estate technology from a different angle, packaging CRM, marketing, listing tools, analytics, and transaction integrations into one ecosystem, with high-touch services sold separately.
BoldTrail’s current core value proposition includes:
- IDX websites and consumer search, configurable across agent, team, and brokerage levels
- Smart CRM, organized around contact statuses and behavioral engagement
- Smart Campaigns and behavioral automation for outreach
- Business intelligence and analytics, with performance reporting across sources
- Full mobile CRM access through the BoldTrail app
- Marketplace services, including managed advertising and concierge lead qualification, priced separately from the base platform
What existing BoomTown customers should know. Legacy BoomTown accounts may still use Success Assurance, the human concierge program that contacts, nurtures, categorizes, and qualifies leads. BoomTown describes its concierges as real, US-based sales professionals, and its April 2026 documentation says outreach begins within 90 seconds of registration with nurture lasting up to a year. In BoldTrail, the successor service is Concierge Pro, previously Success Assurance, a Marketplace offering that uses US-based live concierges, reports qualification averaging under three minutes, and nurtures for up to one year. Legacy BoomTown terminology such as Smart-Drip and the visual pipeline may still appear in existing accounts until migration.
Managed digital advertising is likewise a separately priced Marketplace service in BoldTrail rather than an assumed base-platform inclusion, so a monthly total depends on which services are attached.
On cost, TechRadar’s July 2026 review estimated legacy BoomTown packages at roughly $1,000 to $1,500 per month, plus at least $1,000 in monthly advertising, for an all-in minimum of approximately $2,500. Those are third-party figures for the legacy product. BoldTrail’s own current pricing guidance says standard monthly pricing is not publicly posted, pricing varies by configuration, and Marketplace advertising is priced separately.
Website capabilities across two productized systems
Both platforms include IDX websites, and both are productized systems rather than unrestricted bespoke development.
Sierra Interactive website characteristics:
- Up to 200 single-property sites on the Growth plan, and 100 on Essential, per Sierra’s pricing matrix
- SEO-oriented templates, with editable metadata, schema, and community page frameworks
- Multiple design levels, including a dedicated Luxury Site product announced April 28, 2026
- Customizable content areas for location pages, neighborhood guides, and educational content
BoldTrail website characteristics:
- Lead capture optimization, with forms, registration prompts, and configurable consumer sites
- Property search integration, with a consumer-friendly MLS interface
- Mobile access: BoldTrail’s mobile app provides full front-office CRM access, and Inside Real Estate launched Streams in March 2026, initially for BoldTrail users and subsequently for BoomTown users
- Themes, landing pages, and guide pages with site-editing tools
- Legacy BoomTown apps: existing BoomTown users retain BoomTown NOW as the agent-facing CRM app, along with the legacy branded consumer property-search experience available under their account
Design quality is a subjective judgment, and both vendors work within productized website systems. Real Estate Websites from Luxury Presence take a different approach. Every site is custom-designed around your brand, your market, and your listings by professional designers, with SEO- and GEO-ready architecture, MLS integration, IDX search, and lead capture built into property search, saved searches, and home valuation requests. Your website is the first listing presentation you will ever give, and it should look like the business you have built. Our guide to real estate website design covers the principles behind that work.
That design work shows up in what clients say. Aaron L., a team lead and realtor, wrote on G2 in November 2025 that the design team and templates removed the guesswork from building a website. Samantha L., a marketing director, wrote in November 2025 that the design was top-tier, the backend intuitive, and that her property, neighborhood, and blog pages produced high-quality leads. Ben B., a realtor, wrote in October 2025 that he was the only agent within 100 miles with his own Branded Mobile App. Individual results differ by market, brand, and effort.
For more examples of what agents have built, browse our case studies and our website platform overview.
CRM functionality for leads and relationships
The CRM comparison reveals different philosophies about what agent software should do. Sierra emphasizes routing flexibility. BoldTrail emphasizes an integrated, status-driven engagement system.
Sierra’s CRM characteristics:
- Configurable routing rules, based on source, tag, location, price range, schedule, agent assignments, auto-assignment percentages, claim timeouts, first-to-claim workflows, and catch-all fallbacks
- Nearly 100 existing integrations plus an open API
- Lead Engage AI available as an add-on at $199 per month for unlimited leads on Essential and Growth, and unavailable on Starter
- Lead export documented in Sierra’s Help Center
BoldTrail’s CRM characteristics:
- Smart CRM as the central contact system
- Contact statuses for tracking stage and engagement
- Smart Campaigns and behavioral automation
- Business intelligence and team performance tools, including coaching and accountability reporting
- Optional Concierge Pro so qualified leads arrive pre-vetted
- Contact import and export, with legacy BoomTown accounts using BoomTown’s lead export for authorized Broker and Admin users when the permission is enabled
On integrations, both vendors are more open than the usual comparison suggests. Sierra advertises nearly 100 ecosystem integrations and an open API. TechRadar reports that legacy BoomTown supports an open API, more than 20 native integrations, and Zapier connectivity to roughly 6,000 applications, including tools such as Sisu, BombBomb, Brokermint, dotloop, and Google Calendar. Current BoldTrail documents Zapier connectivity, API access, and a Marketplace ecosystem. Integration counts across the category shift over time as ecosystems expand.
One point worth understanding across the category is that export capability and full data portability are different things, and what travels with an export varies by provider.
For agents who want a CRM that surfaces opportunities inside an existing network rather than only processing purchased leads, AI CRM from Luxury Presence takes a relationship-first approach. It organizes and enriches every contact across email, phone, and social, then combines behavioral data from your website and marketing with signals from property records, life events such as job changes, and predicted net-worth shifts to surface who is most likely to enter the market. From there it produces a daily prioritized action list and drafts on-brand outreach, while you stay in control of every send. More than 280 million Americans are enriched with 50+ data points per matched contact.
Michelle S. wrote on G2 in December 2025 that CRM integration and initial setup went smoothly, and that she had everyday support for lead conversion and website management. Her experience is her own. If you are mapping out how a database should be structured before you migrate, our guide to real estate CRM software walks through the fundamentals, our piece on maximizing your database covers what to do with the contacts you already have, and our overview of how to convert leads into deals covers what happens next.
Lead generation is a matter of emphasis
Here is where the two vendors diverge, though less cleanly than most comparisons claim.
Sierra’s lead generation model:
- SEO-led positioning, with website architecture built around organic visibility
- Optional managed advertising, including Google Ads and Facebook and Instagram campaigns. Sierra’s pricing lists a $500 minimum monthly Google ad spend and a 10% management fee
- Content produced by you or purchased separately, either in-house, through an outside agency, or via Sierra’s Content Writing Services
- Compounding organic equity, with the important caveat below about timelines
BoldTrail’s lead generation model:
- Managed advertising available as a Marketplace add-on, priced separately from the base platform
- Optional Concierge Pro qualification, with US-based human follow-up on new registrations
- Multiple recognized lead sources, including third-party, API, manual, and bulk-imported contacts
Two points are worth clarifying, because you will see them everywhere. First, paid campaigns can begin driving traffic as soon as they go live, but the timing and volume of qualified leads vary by market, budget, targeting, landing pages, inventory, and conversion rates. No platform can promise a fixed timeline. Second, pausing paid media generally stops new leads attributable to those campaigns, though it does not automatically stop organic and direct site leads, referrals, sphere and database activity, listing alert responses, or imported contacts. Our complete PPC guide walks through how that math tends to play out.
On the organic side, the honest timeline is less tidy than the usual “12 to 24 months” line. Current guidance commonly places meaningful SEO movement around three to six months, with new domains and competitive markets sometimes requiring six to 12 months or longer. Organic visibility is also not permanent. Google does not guarantee ranking positions, and search traffic can shift after site changes, migrations, competitor moves, or algorithmic updates. Much of your organic equity can be preserved, though not guaranteed, through a carefully managed migration when you retain the domain, content, URL structure, internal links, and redirects. Our guide to maximizing real estate SEO explains how that compounding works.
Paid Ads Management from Luxury Presence offers a third path. Our team runs Google and Meta campaigns across three objectives: generating buyer leads, promoting active listings, and winning seller leads through homeowner-targeted ads. We deliver the assets, handle optimization, and maintain ongoing management, with performance visible in-app. There are no management fees, so every dollar of your separate advertising budget goes directly to ad spend, and you set your primary and secondary service areas so campaigns focus on the markets you actually work. Advertising capabilities begin with the Brand plan, with larger managed ad spend capacity at higher tiers, as detailed on the plans page. If sellers are the goal, our look at home valuations and seller leads shows where those campaigns land.
When a lead does come in, AI Lead Nurture replies by SMS in under 60 seconds, qualifies through natural conversation, and brings you in the moment the lead is ready to meet.
Marketing automation at scale
Both platforms offer automation, and they automate different layers.
What Sierra automates:
- Lead routing, with immediate distribution based on configurable rules
- Drip email campaigns and scheduled follow-up sequences
- Task reminders for agent accountability
- Website engagement tracking for behavioral signals and lead scoring
What BoldTrail automates:
- Smart Campaigns with behavioral triggers
- Lead qualification handoff through optional Concierge Pro
- Status-driven follow-up, using contact statuses to trigger next actions
- Reporting and business intelligence, with dashboards that update automatically
Legacy BoomTown accounts may still display Smart-Drip campaigns and the older visual pipeline until they migrate.
Both vendors provide content tools. Sierra supports blogs, community pages, saved searches, and website content workflows. BoldTrail supports landing pages, guide pages, email templates, and listing alerts. Across the category, an ongoing managed organic content program comparable to an agency retainer is scoped separately from the standard package. Our overview of real estate marketing automation covers how the layers fit together.
That is where Luxury Presence closes the loop. SEO & GEO combines ongoing technical optimization, structured data, keyword architecture, site-speed work, Google Business Profile management, and weekly hyperlocal blog content that builds your authority with buyers, sellers, Google, and AI search tools. Social Media Management (Beta) delivers a complete weekly campaign of static posts, carousels, and video Reels drafted from your own listings, website, and brand. Nothing publishes without your approval, and edits take about a minute. Both are available as you move up the plans.
The engine underneath all of it is Presence® AI, the intelligence layer powering every product on the Presence Platform. It connects MLS data, client behavior, brand guidelines, and performance trends across our client base, and a dedicated team of content and marketing specialists monitors the system, tunes the models, and sets the quality bar. Clients approve 99%+ of what Presence® AI delivers. For the wider view, see our primer on AI in real estate.
Ashton S., a director of marketing, wrote on G2 in January 2026 that SEO, website updates, and lead generation had been fragmented and time-consuming before Luxury Presence, and that having them in one system meant less time on tech and more time with clients. Ben B. wrote in October 2025 that the AI and social media features made his marketing look agency-grade. Kate S., a content marketing strategy manager, wrote in November 2025 that updates were made on her behalf without her having to work through complex design tools. All are individual accounts rather than typical outcomes.
Scalability and team features
Team size changes the math, and this is where comparisons often pair tiers that do not match.
Sierra scaling characteristics, per Sierra’s published pricing page using annual rates:
- Starter: 1 user at $299.95 per month, positioned for solo agents and small teams
- Essential: 3 users at $399.95 per month
- Growth: 5 users at $599.95 per month
- Dialer: Sierra’s pricing matrix lists a $100-per-month dialer upgrade for Starter and shows different included communication allotments across its plans
- Setup fee: $0 with annual subscriptions, $500 with monthly subscriptions
BoldTrail scaling characteristics:
- Current BoldTrail pricing publicly presents BASE, PLUS, and PRO packages, without fixed user counts or published rates
- PRO advertises access to the PRO Desk team
- Exact user capacity, modules, onboarding, and pricing are set at the configuration level rather than published publicly
- Legacy BoomTown materials and third-party reviews reference Launch, Core, Grow, and Advance configurations. TechRadar’s July 2026 table lists Launch, Grow, and Advance at approximately $1,000, $1,300, and $1,500 per month respectively. Those are legacy packages, not current BoldTrail packaging
Because BoldTrail no longer publishes tier-by-tier user counts, a direct plan-to-plan scaling comparison against Sierra is not possible from public sources.
Sierra’s Starter plan is positioned for solo agents and small teams, so the common framing of Sierra as a team-only platform is too narrow. The fairer point is a workload one. An SEO-led model rewards steady content production, whether that content is produced in-house, outsourced, or purchased.
Luxury Presence scales along a different axis. Plans support 1 user at Launch, up to 3 at Brand, up to 10 at Scale, and up to 20 at All In, with agent sub-domains available at Scale and above. A verified real estate user wrote on G2 in November 2025 that the platform covered website design, hosting, SEO, landing pages, and property and agent sub-domain sites for the brokerage, and that the success manager was professional and helpful. Alaina L., a broker and owner, wrote in December 2025 that the interface was user-friendly and communication was consistently top-notch. Those are individual experiences. See how we support solo agents, growing teams, and brokerages.
Pricing and value across the first year
For a five-user Sierra team over 12 months, using annual billing:
Sierra Interactive (Growth tier):
- Platform: $599.95 per month x 12 = $7,199.40 (annual billing waives the setup fee)
- Lead Engage AI: $199 per month x 12 = $2,388
- Base first-year software cost: approximately $9,587.40, before advertising and any additional users, MLS feeds, websites, design upgrades, content services, or optional add-ons
BoldTrail: a comparable current first-year total is not available from public first-party pricing. Pricing is set at the configuration level, and Marketplace services such as managed advertising and Concierge Pro are scoped separately.
Legacy BoomTown scenario (third-party reporting only, not current BoldTrail pricing): using TechRadar’s July 2026 figures for the Advance package, which is the plan TechRadar associates with the $1,500 setup fee:
- Platform: approximately $1,500 per month x 12 = $18,000
- Setup fee: $1,500
- Advertising minimum: $1,000 per month x 12 = $12,000
- Estimated first-year total: approximately $31,500
That legacy scenario sits above Sierra’s approximately $9,587.40. Treat it as a historical third-party estimate for a platform being phased out rather than current packaging, and note that user capacity differed across those legacy packages, so the comparison is not seat-for-seat.
The ROI calculation depends on your model. With internal marketing capacity and patience for organic visibility to build, lower fixed costs may preserve capital. With an immediate need for managed lead flow and no marketing bandwidth, managed services may justify the premium. Both are defensible positions. If you are building a budget from scratch, our breakdown of agent marketing expenses and our look at marketing ROI are useful starting points.

What you receive depends on the plan you select. Launch covers the branded website, MLS integration, AI CRM, Listing Alerts & Homeowner Reports, CMAs & Client Presentations, the Branded Mobile App, and client collaboration. Brand adds hyperlocal blog content, weekly SEO & GEO optimizations, Google Business Profile optimization, hyperlocal advertising, and listing ads, with Social Media Management (Beta) and AI Lead Nurture available as add-ons. Scale adds Google and Meta retargeting, Social Media Management (Beta), AI Lead Nurture via SMS, agent sub-domains, and larger managed ad spend capacity. All In adds the premium SEO & GEO program. The plans page lays out what is included at each level, with a Get Started option on Launch, Brand, Scale, and All In.
The platform numbers give a sense of the scale behind that work: 100 million annual visitors, 700 million annual interactions, and 15 billion annual data points, with 30,000+ sites and 87,000+ agents managed over more than a decade. More than 30% of WSJ Top 100 agents run their business on the Presence Platform. Luxury Presence reports a 96% client satisfaction score, and that clients grow six times faster than peer agents in the same market and close 2.9 times more transaction volume per agent than peers. Results vary based on market, content, and configuration.
Client sentiment lines up with the numbers. Across the G2 reviews cited here, the recurring theme is the team behind the platform. Elizabeth B. wrote in December 2025 that account managers went above and beyond with timely, quality work. Jess S., a REALTOR®, wrote in November 2025 that support was excellent and the site was easy to edit. Victoria S., a marketing director, wrote in November 2025 that back-end access let her make her own updates, including MLS-sync fixes, without depending on a third party, and that she had recommended the platform to more than 10 agents. Read more at Luxury Presence reviews. Individual experiences vary.
If you are weighing an SEO-led model against an integrated ecosystem model, the more useful question may be whether a platform that handles execution end to end fits better than either. Our library of platform comparisons can help you work through it, and a strategy session is the fastest way to see the platform against your own market.
